Pursuit of Excellence

On Tuesday, January 27th, the Los Angeles 3rd Ward held their first meeting in "Pursuit of Excellence."  Sister Gloria Soltero presented a pamphlet entitled "En Pos de la Excelencia," which outlines how women can set and accomplish goals.  Sister Soltero mentioned several goals that the women of LA 3rd Ward might consider i.e. family research, learning a language (English), learning a new skill, etc. 

All sisters in the Los Angeles Stake have an opportunity to follow the lead of the LA 3rd Ward.  The church has published a booklet for the young women entitled "Young Women's Personal Progress."

This booklet was mainly designed for young women, but can be utilized by women of all ages.  It is a great tool that can help us develop spiritual, social and physical skills.  The booklet can be obtained through a member of your Ward's Young Women's Presidency or online at lds.org.

Los Angeles 6th Ward Visiting Teaching Recognition

On January 24th, the Los Angeles 6th Ward Relief Society Presidency and Visiting Teaching Coordinator recognized the Visiting Teachers who have magnified their callings in 2014.  A very clever video was shared that depicted the do's and don'ts of Visiting Teaching and a lovely dinner followed.

Los Angeles 4th Ward Relief Society Activity Night

On Saturday, November 15th, the Los Angeles 4th Ward Relief Society sisters shared beautiful handmade items.  Through developed talents, the sisters created and displayed crocheted purses, belts, and blankets.  Necklaces, bracelets, and earrings made from paper of colorful magazines looked exactly like glass beads.  Other home accessories made by the creative sisters of the LA 4th Ward were beautifully displayed.  We were reminded that all women & men are given gifts and talents from God to develop and share.  A lovely dinner was served and all in attendance were uplifted by the spirit of sisterhood.

Relief Society Leadership Meeting

The Los Angeles Stake Relief Society Leadership Meeting was held Thursday, November 13th at the Los Angeles Stake Center.  The theme for the evening was based on 2nd Nephi 25:26.  The spirit was strongly felt as the Ward Relief Society Presidencies discussed how to become better disciples of  Jesus Christ.  

Los Angeles 3rd Ward's Hispanic Festival

L.A. 3rd Ward had their Hispanic festival with food and dances from their countries. They dressed in wonderfully colorful clothes typical of their countries. Included in the pictures are Peru, Honduras, Guatemala,  Mexico, and El Salvador.
